From Art To Action,

Forging Peace

Current Art Project

"One Painting One Prayer" is a daily creative series initiated by artist Lin Shih-Pao in response to the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian War in 2022. Each day, the artist expresses prayers for peace through lines, geometric shapes, and sketches, aiming to awaken public consciousness and rally forces for peace.

Who We Are

Shield Art Foundation, established in 2023 in New York by Taiwanese-American artist Lin Shih-Pao, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit humanitarian art organization. Our mission is to inspire artists to spearhead socially conscious art initiatives that tackle humanitarian concerns and contribute to the peace movement through creative expression.

What We Do

Raising Awareness through Art

We believe in harnessing the power of art to raise public awareness of humanitarian issues. Lin Shih-Pao's "One Painting One Prayer" series has received support from organizations in the United States, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan, contributing to efforts in support of Ukraine.

Providing Practical Assistance

Beyond artistic endeavors, we actively support tangible donation initiatives. In 2023, Lin Shih-Pao traveled to the front lines in Ukraine, donating supplies such as ambulances and bread-making equipment.

Lin Shih-Pao returned to Taiwan this year as the CEO of the Shield Art Foundation to host the solo exhibition "One Painting One Prayer." This series features artworks created by the artist, who has painted one piece daily since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, accumulating over 700 pieces to date. The exhibition showcased 80 works and was held at the Grand Hotel Taipei on February 28th and 29th, from 10am to 8pm, marking a successful conclusion.

During the opening ceremony, attendees not only enjoyed the artworks but also participated in various exciting activities organized by the president of the hosting organization, Ms. Hsieh Jin. These activities included a sharing session by the artist, recitations by composer Chung Hung-yuan, live performances by singer Ah Jia, and a series of denim hats and cloth bags designed by Gloria Lee, available for sale to support the peace efforts in Ukraine.

Returning to Taiwan this time, Lin Shih-Pao was deeply moved by the enthusiastic support from Taiwanese friends for the Ukraine peace initiative led by the artist. Many expressed great anticipation for the next artistic concept, the "Peace Bell," to be realized in Ukraine.

This year, Lin plans to recycle 5-6 tons of missile debris, using it as material to cast a large-scale art sculpture in Ukraine. The names of all collectors, donors, and volunteers who have supported the initiative along the way will be inscribed on the peace bell, symbolizing blessings and wishes for peace from around the world.

With the concept of peace guiding his creative endeavors for over thirty years, each project has been built step by step. The prayers for a ceasefire continue, and the journey of love and peace knows no borders.
